SKATE PARK

Since its completion in September 2020, Horsforth Hall Skatepark has been a social space for people of all ages to practice skateboarding, BMXing or scooter riding within the confines of a facility which far outshines any of its nearby neighbours. Built by Concreate Skateparks, the park replaces the old, outdated metal skatepark and features a large open bowl, a kidney pool replica of the kind popularised by the first wave of Californian skaters and a small street section featuring an array of curbs and ledges. It has cropped up in a number of local skateboard videos, visited by the UK Vans team for a feature with the magazine The Skateboarder’s Companion and has also featured in Ride BMX Magazine, becoming an essential stopping point for visitors from across the UK. Hopefully the incredible response to the park from both the local and wider community will act as a catalyst for more skateparks of this quality and scale to be built in the north of England.
